Score: 32 - 38
Point Spread: +7/-110 New Orleans
Play on New Orleans Saints Sunday 4:25 PM EST
This is a matchup of the two highest scoring offenses in the NFL. While the Saints ‘dont have anything to play for’, all indications are they have plenty to play for. The Saints always get up to play the Falcons, especially when seeking revenge against them. That’s the case here as Atlanta won earlier this year, but the Saints defense was a lot worse then than now. They also had 2 turnovers or this final score would have been different.
Drew Brees might be playing his final game under Sean Payton. The two have a strong bond and history and they want to leave it all on the field Sunday. The Falcons are playing for a win so they can get a first round bye. That has led this line to be inflated in a series that has only seen a spread of more than 7 points twice in the last 13 meetings. The last time the Falcons laid more than 5 points to the Saints was 2005. They are 3-8 ATS their L11 games as a favorite against New Orleans.
The Saints say they have made defensive adjustments from the last game for this game. They are also more healthy on defense than they were earlier in the season.
New Orleans is 4-0 ATS their L4 road games as a road dog playing with revenge vs the NFC South. Home favorites in the NFL of 6.5 or more points with a total of 55 points or more are 0-3 ATS the L3. Atlanta fits the bill there. As a home favorite of 5 to 7.5 points, the Falcons are 0-4 ATS their L4, losing 3 of those games straight up. Following 3 ATS wins, the Falcons are 1-20 ATS when playing at home the next game and that is going to seal the deal here.
The Falcons big play receiver, Taylor Gabriel, is out for this game. Julio Jones snap count has been down and he might not play as many snaps here either.
Look for an inspired Saints team to play spoiler here. They have only been outgained once in their last 10 games and make them a live dog here.
