Brandon Shively’s 20* NBA Blowout Winner--Game of the Week
New York vs. Indiana,
01/07/2017 19:00 EDT,
Score: 109 - 123
Point Spread: -7/-110 Indiana
Play on Indiana Pacers Saturday 7:00 PM EST
The Pacers were playing their 5th road game in 7 nights when the Knicks beat them 118-111 on 12/20. The Knicks were fresh off a road trip, on 2 days rest, and pumped up playing their first game at home in a while and had Derrick Rose back in the lineup. The situation is now favoring Indiana tonight with revenge being the motive and rest along with playing good ball currently will be the factors to carry them to a comfortable win over a Knicks team that had to fight hard to come back and beat Milwaukee last night.
The Pacers are 4-0 SU and ATS their last 4 games, having topped 111 points in all 4 games. This is their longest win streak of the season and are eager to make a statement on Saturday as they have a rare, 4 days of rest after this game. I see that as being motivation and reason to play starters and finish the game strong.
Before losing to the Knicks a few weeks ago, the Pacers had beaten the Knicks the previous 7 meetings.
The Pacers are 11-0 SU and 9-1-1 ATS their L11 home meetings against the Knicks. Four of their last 5 home victories have come by double digits.
Now I know the Knicks are a little bit better this year, but Carmello and Derrick Rose playing on the tail end of a back to back is not ideal. Meol is only shooting 23% from the 3 point line and averaging only 17 ppg in 6 games this year on zero rest. I don’t see him going 7-for-11 from the 3 point line again like he did the previous meeting vs the Pacers. Rose is only shooting 40% from the floor with zero rest this year and his defense has been terrible playing with 0 rest. Also, Porzingis has tended not to log as many minutes on a back to back and has not produced as good either.
Jeff Teague is playing at a high level currently averaging 10 assist per game his L10 games. Paul George is shooting the ball well. Glen Robinson off the bench has been huge lately and the Pacers have finally found their best lineup and rotation to use.
The Knicks are 0-6 SU their L6 games with zero rest and have given up an average of 119 points in these 6 games. With the Pacers ballin right now and on 4 days rest after this game, I look for them to cruise with a double digit win.
