Score: 48 - 27
Point Spread: +4½/-110 Ball State
Ball State +4.5
The Virginia Cavaliers host the Ball State Cardinals on Saturday in Week 6 of the college football season. Virginia is coming off a 14-3 loss to Pittsburgh, while Ball State beat Toledo last weekend, 31-24.
The Cavaliers bring name value to this contest, but these two teams are playing at entirely different levels right now.
We cashed a ticket on the Cardinals two weeks ago when they breezed past Eastern Michigan, and we’ll go right back to that well for this one.
In three contests against quality opponents this season, the Cavaliers have averaged only 10.7 points per game, with two losses in those three contests, and the lone win coming by just three points against a BYU squad that’s turned out to be a major disappointment.
The Cavaliers are 2-8-1 in their last 11 home games.
Conversely, the Cardinals have averaged 40 points per game, eclipsing the 50-point mark twice in five games. Running back Jahwan Edwards has had a real nose for the end zone of late, finding the endzone three times each of the last two weeks.
The Cardinals have scored on their opening drive in each of their five games this season.
The Cardinals are 18-6 in their last 24 games overall.
Good Luck, Razor Ray
