Score: 71 - 61
Point Spread: -3½/-106 San Diego State
San Diego State -3.5
The Colorado State Rams were a terrific team last year, but they lost a ton of talent from last year’s team. Colorado State had to get a whole new starting five this year.
Larry Eustachy’s team still plays very hard, but they aren’t nearly as talented as last season.
J.J. Avila averages 19.5 points and shoots 53.5 percent for the floor to lead the Rams so far this year. Avila was hurt in practice a couple days ago, and Coach Eustachy said he doubted whether Avila will be able to play in this one.
If he does play, he’ll be very limited. Losing their top player is something this team cannot overcome.
San Diego State returns a little more talent than Colorado State, and Steve Fisher is one of the best coaches in the country.
Fisher has this team playing terrific defense again this year like they do every single season.
San Diego State is always ready to play on the road. The Aztecs are 36-17-2 ATS in their last 55 road games. Colorado State is short-handed right now, and the Aztecs will have advantages all over the court in this matchup.
San Diego State has too much talent.
Take San Diego State. Good Luck, Razor Ray.
