Pittsburgh vs. New England, 09/08/2019 20:20 EDT, Score: 3 - 33

Money Line: -240 New England

Sportsbook: Bodog

Result: Win

I'm playing NEW ENGLAND on the money-line. One might expect the defending Super Bowl champs to be overrated and overvalued in Week 1 of the reg. season. However, I've had great success backing the champs in their first game, over the years. Note that defending SB champs are 16-3 SU this millennium, in Week 1 of the season. True, one of those three losses was when the Pats hosted the Chiefs a couple of seasons ago. However, I don't expect a repeat performance. Also, note that before the KC loss, the Pats had fared well in Week 1, as defending champs. The Steelers got used to playing without Bell last season but the departure of Antonio Brown is also going to take a toll. When the Pats home opener has been in the first week of the season, they're 9-1 the past 10. The Pats are also 17-2 SU the past 19 times that they were listed as home favorites, a perfect 8-0 SU when listed as a home favorite of a TD or less. More of the same on Sunday night.
