8* Over North Dakota/Montana (9:00 ET): Montana has gone Under in every game so far. In what will be a common theme in this three-game report, we're bucking the trend. Tonight, the Grizzlies host former Big Sky rival North Dakota (who now plays in the Summit League). I consider myself a well-traveled individual, but these are two states I've never visited. I'd love to go to both. North Dakota probably is happy it no longer has to make the trek to Missoula though. They lost their last eight visits, the last being in 2018, which was their final season in the Big Sky Conference.
Montana will be happy to be back here, however. They fell to 0-4 SU on the road w/ a 72-63 loss to New Mexico on Sunday. All four losses were as DD dogs. So at least they covered in Albuquerque, albeit barely (by just one point). As unkind as the road has been to the Grizzlies (they are averaging just 56.8 PPG), home games see the scoring increase you'd expect as they average a respectable 69.8 PPG. They are shooting 46.9% here in Missoula. Three-point shooting has been dreadful so far (same for North Dakota) but I expect that number to go up after tonight.
North Dakota also lost Sunday, 58-56 to Campbell, a disappointing end to a holiday tournament out in Florida. The first two games of that event saw them upset the host (Florida Gulf Coast) and Georgia Southern. They beat the spread by a collective 40 points in those two wins and averaged 79 PPG in doing so. Like Montana, this O/U is definitely on the low side. Average scoring from both sides should sent it Over pretty easily. 8* Over North Dakota/Montana
