What do the Colorado Rockies, Atlanta Braves, Seattle Mariners and Oakland A's all have in common? Well in addition to the fact that all four teams rank among the worst in the major leagues, all four clubs have a better road record than the LA Dodgers. That's right folks, the mighty Dodgers are just 16-22 on the road this season. That hasn't stopped the bookmakers from routinely making them the favorite, and that is the case here again in Arizona (-149 on Wednesday).
Robbie Ray will toe the rubber for the D'Backs, and he's looked sharp in his rookie season. Ray (2-3, 1.98 ERA) allowed three runs on five hits over six innings in a loss to the Padres in San Diego his last time out. He's allowed more than two earned runs just once this season, when he allowed three earned runs on six hits in a home loss to the Padres.
The Dodgers hand the ball to Brett Anderson, who has not been very good away from Los Angeles. Anderson (4-4, 3.13 ERA) allowed one run on five hits over seven innings in a win at Miami his last time out. He didn't have to face Giancarlo Stanton though, and he will have to contend with Arizona slugger Paul Goldschmidt tonight.
Goldschmidt is hitting .354 with 20 home runs and 65 RBIs so far this season, and he's 7-for-11 with a pair of home runs lifetime versus Anderson.
